Generally speakers stay in either the Best Western Greentree Inn or the Best Western New Oregon Hotel. Both hotels are right next to each other (go figure) and a short 5 minute walk to the Department of Physics in Willamette Hall.

Graham's General Recommendations
You can either
* Fly directly into Eugene airport (EUG), and take a taxi over to the hotel or the department. Or,
* Fly into Portland airport (PDX), rent a car, and drive to Eugene.
Eugene airport is certainly more convenient, but it is a small regional airport with connections only to airline hubs in the west. In order of the frequency of flights to Eugene:
United has connections from Denver and San Francisco;
Horizon/Alaska Air has connections from Portland and Seattle;
Delta has a connection from Salt Lake City;
America West/US Airways has a connection from Phoenix.

Driving Directions from Portland Airport
The drive from Portland to Eugene is straightforward. First get a map from the rental car agency which will get you oriented in the state of Oregon. Next, print this map that shows I-5 in relation to the University and your hotel. The Greentree Inn and the New Oregon Hotel are located on the northeast corner of Agate and Franklin.

From Portland airport, head south on I-205 for about 30 miles to I-5. Then head south on I-5 for about 80 miles to Eugene. Exit I-5 heading west on I-105, then take the first exit right onto "Coburg" road towards "Downtown / University of Oregon". Follow Coburg over a bridge, and keep to far left lane to merge onto Broadway that becomes Franklin. Follow Franklin for about 1 mile and you will see the University on your right, and just past Agate, two Best Western hotels on your left, the New Oregon Hotel and the Greentree Inn. Pass your destination, take the next left, do a U-turn, and you're there!
