After a brief review of why time is the fourth dimension, I will discuss ideas
about a fifth and higher dimensions.  Starting from  Kaluza and Klein, through
string theory, up to the latest ideas about how extra dimensions may be
relevant to the origin of the electron mass and how such extra dimensions could
be probed at the upcoming Large Hadron Collider.
